James Henry Dykstra

James Henry Dykstra passed away peacefully at his home, January 25, 2018. Born March 8, 1934, Jim was born and raised in San Francisco. Jim was a San Francisco Police Officer for 12 years before relocating his family to Sebastopol. After moving to Sonoma County, Jim worked for the county in various capacities and in retirement volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Jim had a passion for life. He loved traveling, enjoying time with his family and friends, golf, fishing, playing cards and he always had a pocket full of jokes to share. Jim is survived by his wife, Arlene, daughter Janet Reymond, son Richard Dykstra, five grandchildren James Dykstra, David Tranchina, Laurel Bush, Ryan Dykstra, and Jacob Dykstra and three great-grandchildren Rowan Dykstra, Audrey Bush and Cole Bush. He was predeceased by his first wife Barbara Dykstra.

A service will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church in Santa Rosa, 10:30 AM Friday, February 9th.
A reception will be held immediately following the service. Donations can be made in his name to St. Joseph Memorial Hospice.
