Jim was my favorite professor at SFSU during my undergraduate years. I'll never forget the day he bravely "outed" himself during a discussion in our Plastics Technology class. As a new resident of San Francisco, I was inspired by his openness and honesty. I also must admit, I had quite a crush on him.
