James Englert Obituary

James Vincent Englert April 01, 1952 -Aug. 25, 2011 A beloved husband, father and grandfather, went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2011 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Susana Englert, and his children Jason, Jessica, James Jr., and 3 grandchildren. James was born in Sequoia hospital in Redwood City on April 1, 1952. He was the 5th born of 6 children. He grew up with his father and mother, Leo T Englert and Patricia Englert, and his siblings in Atherton CA. He attended St Pius Grammar School, Bellermine College Prep School, and Menlo Atherton High School.. In 1977 James moved to Fairfield CA to work at Anheuser Busch to pursue his passion, not knowing that it would blossom into a career of 33 years. James was an old-fashioned man, working hard graveyard shifts to provide for his family. He enjoyed many things in life, but most of all, his family, his wife's cooking, and the S.F. Giants. He also was an avid catholic, a parishioner of Holy Spirit Church. Even after he was diagnosed with lung cancer in November of 2010 he remained upbeat and positive; strong for his family. He will be remembered by the nurses who took care of him for his jokes and cheerful attitude. He will be remembered by his family as a selfless loving father who sacrificed all his life for the comfort and security of his wife and children. Please join us in celebrating his life on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Bryan Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield for Visitation from 5 to 9 PM. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Church in Fairfield on Friday September 2, 2011 at 10:00 AM followed by burial. at Fairmont Memorial Park. Funeral Arrangements are in the care of Bryan Braker Funeral Home. www.bryanbraker.com.

Jimmy,

I truly regret losing touch with you and your family. It was good to see Kip and Bob's messages. I'll always remember you and the fun we had together.

Dear Jimmy, it has been many years since we last saw each other but the memories of our times together growing up in Atherton are rich and dear to me. You will be missed, god bless, Kip

Jimmy, my old friend. I recall with great fondness, all of the good times we had together as kids, and into adulthood. Though we hadn't seen each other in 35 years, I thought of you often, and wondered how you were doing. I was happy to see that you had continued into the beer business. If things had turned out differently, perhaps we would have been running Regal together.
Rest in peace, my brother.
