James J. Jermyn September 28, 1939 November 24, 2011 James J. Jermyn born in County Roscommon, Ireland, succumbed to bone cancer on November 24th at home in Millbrae surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maureen; his son, James (Jenni); and his daughters Jennifer Hampson (Tim); and Erin Bachoc (Martin). His beloved son, Edward preceded him in 1999. Known as Papa, he also leaves his precious grandchildren: Liam and Oona Jermyn; Caitlin, Ava and Jack Hampson. He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth (Florida) and Peggy (New Zealand) and brother Tom (Ireland) He is preceded by his sister Mary (England) and brothers John (Chicago) and James I (Ireland). A very special uncle to his many nieces & nephews. Jim was a golfer, fisherman, camper, family man... a man of all seasons who was at his happiest when in front of his grill surrounded by family and good friends. He will best be remembered as a man who loved life and was full of life. He was a carpenter by trade and a master at remodeling. Eire Construction remodeled many homes along the peninsula and his expertise has made an impact on so many families over the past 40 years. The Jermyn family is especially grateful to Jim's caregiver, Jason Guzman and the Kaiser Hospice nurses for guiding us through this difficult time. To all our far away rellies our thoughts and condolences are with you. Our memories of Uncle James are fond ones usually of him cooking a delicious BBQ and sharing funny stories. As kids he delighted us all by giving each of us a US hundred dollar bill (Elise still has hers and will cherish it more so now). We were always excited when Uncle James would come to little NZ from the states usually because it meant we got to eat donuts for breakfast instead of cereal and fruit! Aaron has many fond memories of his trip to the South Island with Uncle James and recalls being whacked on the head by him with a golf club by a wayward swing! Something we will always laugh about! Uncle James was a lovely man with a big heart who we will all miss dearly. Rest in peace Uncle James we will always cherish our memories of you and time spent with you. Love to all the family
