James Schroder Obituary
06/21/1944 - 06/23/2025
James Patrick Schroder, age 81, passed away peacefully, on June 23, 2025. A native San Franciscan, he was born to William J. and Edna (Riordan) Schroder. His only brother, William, died in 2009.
Jim is survived by his first wife, Bernie; and their three sons, Daniel (Amy), Ryan, Matthew; his grandchildren, Sadie and Finn (Dan); nephew, Bill; and nieces, Karen and Ann.
Jim is also survived by his second wife, Lesley; her daughter, Jennifer (Mike); and her grandchildren, Haeden, Nick and Jack.
Jim attended St. Stephen, Riordan, C.C.S.F. and the University of San Francisco. While at U.S.F., he played first position on the golf team. His "scratch" handicap led him to third place in the U.S. Amateur Golf Tournament, the All-Navy Golf Team, and Club Champion while as a member of Silverado Country Club.
During the Vietnam Conflict, Jim served as a Navy Corpsman. After the Navy, he was a salesman for several pharmaceutical companies, and then sold real estate in the Napa area. In the late 80s, he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Returning to S.F., he married Lesley. After retirement they enjoyed traveling together, taking their speedboat out at South Shore, and playing golf.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City, followed by Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Colma.
