James L. Schwartz

James L. Schwartz was born in Perry, Iowa on September 20, 1948 and passed away on March 30, 2015 in Evanston, Illinois. He was an avid traveler and loved to read. He also enjoyed movies, late night television, watching baseball and Formula One racing, and sitting on a sunny bench drinking a good cup of coffee.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents John and Evelyn Schwartz and infant brother Ronald. He is survived by his daughter Samantha Schwartz (Jeffrey Miller) and his grandson Wyatt; his sister Sheryl Reiter (Jesse), and his nephew and nieces: Matthew Reiter, Jennifer Froehlich (Scott), and Michelle Reiter; and his former wife and good friend Mei Zhang. Jim was a great fellow; very kind and caring, especially to his students. I miss him. He sat next to me at my retirement luncheon (GGU) on April 21, 2014. It was the last time I saw him.

I am sorry to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to Jim's family. We were classmates back at Central Dallas in Minburn from grade school through high school. I haven't seen him for years but this picture reminds me of his great smile and warm and friendly character.
