Jane Fallon Obituary

Jane Fallon
08/04/1935 - 01/26/2025
Jane Frances Fallon 8-04-1935 - 1/26/2025
Jane Fallon was born and raised in San Francisco to Thomas Fallon (County Longford, Ireland) and Agnes Bresnahan.
She attended St. Cecilias Grammar School, and Star of the Sea High School.
After high school she joined the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and taught in Fresno and Sonoma.
After Jane left the convent, she returned to San Francisco and taught at St. Dominics, St. Thomas the Apostle, and retired from St. Anne's.
She was a loving and faithful caregiver to her mother, Agnes.
Aunt Janie was a lot of fun! She made holidays and family celebrations hilarious.
Telling jokes, (You Know), and bursting into song while wearing crazy outfits.
She never forgot a birthday or special event, always sending cards and gifts.
In retirement, she enjoyed the lunch bunch with her friends from grammar and high schools, bible study, bingo and the Young Ladies Institute.
She loved teaching and told so many stories of her 3rd grade students.
She enjoyed going to West Portal for lunch, and usually would hear; Hello Miss Fallon, do you remember me?
Jane is survived by her sister, Sister Maureen Fallon CSJ (Barbara) and her three nieces, Maryann Geddes (Andy), Clare Purpura (Andy, dec.), Eileen Lewin (Ron), 4 great-nephews, and 1 great-niece.
She leaves behind many loving relatives in County Longford and County Antrim, Ireland.
She was predeceased by her sister Maureen Pool.
Jane was a resident of Westborough Royale for the past two and a half years, and passed away peacefully. She was 89.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful staff at Westborough Royale, for their loving and attentive care.
Thank you to Pathways Hospice and their staff, and to Dr. Xylona Bibal and her staff.
Thank you also to her numerous friends and colleagues who called and wrote to her these last few years. She cherished you all!
Private family services have already been held.
Donations in her name may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, Los Angeles, Westborough Royale, South San Francisco, or a charity of your choice.
See you on the other side Auntie Janie!

I will always have fond memories of Ms. Fallon - my third grade teacher at St. Thomas the Apostle school. I remember her teaching us Roman Numerals which I use to this day. God Bless her and thank you for all of your years teaching children.

Blessings to you Miss Fallon! You were my 3rd grade teacher at St. Thomas, and gave everyone in the room a nickname, and remembered us by those names. I'll remember your sparkling personality, singing in the classroom in your high heels. You made learning fun.

To the Fallon Family,

I am so saddened to read of Miss Fallon's passing. She was my daughter's teacher at St. Anne of the Sunset. Her charm and warmth were such a delight! Her gracious personality will not be forgotten.

Miss Fallon was an exceptional educator with a rare gift for connecting with her students in a way that made learning fun. Her sense of humor kept everyone smiling. I was always so happy to run into her when she was still in the Sunset.

Countless people pass through this world, but not many leave a legacy that imparts a love of learning and genuine kindness. She will be in my heartfelt prayers.

What a lady.

Jane was truly one of a kind when it comes to her love of her students, love of being a Catholic educator, and love of her family, friends, and colleagues! Jane gave of herself to all those she loved, but her humility always shone forth. She did share her sparkling Irish humor with her students and friends on a regular basis. Students and staff will always remember the many times when she would tell her students that she was going to leave the classroom and do cartwheels down the hallway when something positive happened with one of her students! We know that if anyone is enjoying Christ's promise of eternal happiness and peace, it will be Jane Fallon. Thanks for sharing your life with all of us, Jane!

"We've lost a good one, doncha know!" Jane was just fun, funny, kind, fair, spiritual and feisty at the same time. She was my mentor at St. Thomas Apostle, my friend after that. From any and all teachers lucky enough to work with and learn you: thank you!!!! From countless friends: thank you! A live so very full of giving, teaching, always teaching, and laughing, always brilliant laughter! -Moyra

I have known Jane for 75 years. We first met in Homeroom at Star of the Sea Academy. She soon became the center of our lives, one funny story after another. We continued to be friends through ST Joseph of Carondelet community life, After, Jane and I would meet at Stonestown for our monthly coffee. She was such a positive person with all her comedic stories to keep life happy. My love and prayers go to Eileen, Clare and Maryann. You took such good care of Jane. My love and prayers go to Barbara Fallon. I remember we both lived together at St. Mary's Academy in Los Angeles in 1957 where 13 faculties went out to teach at various schools.
Much love,
Marion Bellan
