I would like to say Sister Janet was very smart thinking the Lord's Prayer would be recited often if it were in a different format like in rock & roll style music. I was in first grade when other small children would try to imitate Sister Janet singing the Lord's Prayer. It was fun and we sang it for years at recess at elementary school.
She was a blessing to many children and I know she will be singing in God's choir in heaven.

Dearly loved by her inner circle, originally 12.
A great attraction to all who knew her, she always made family about those one chose. The community was active broadly and always careful to point out the injustices viewed both near and far.
The Rock Mass in the cathedral was always filled, both inside and out. The weekly highlight was the singing nun arriving for her performance of Our Father and leaving straight afterwards to avoid the crowds.

Janet’s influence has been felt by many families and individuals in SA.

Dear Sister Janet, I remember as a 8 year old boy attending the Rock Mass At Saint Francis in Wakefield St
I had the privilege to be there with my Dad who played the drums in the band. My Dad ( Ken Cooney ) was so proud to play with some very talented people , but to have Sister Janet conduct and drive such a brilliant group was a gift my Father always held very strong in his heart . My memories of those days are clear as they happened yesterday. Sister Janet helped my Dad through times in his life where others walked away.
Thank You Sister Janet for your wonderful heart and being there for my Dad and your belief in always the
good in people You will be missed terribly. God Bless You

May she rest in God's memory. She will be remembered for her good qualities such as her love and deep care and concern for helping the homeless and disadvantaged, to name just a few. She will be missed by all who loved her. May prayers strengthen you and cherished memories comfort you. 23rd Psalm

I was raised a catholic, but, she turned "The Lord's Prayer" into something that I connected to on a level that made my heart sing. I had this song on a '45', and played it more times than I can possibly remember. I'm sorry to say, I had forgotten about this rendition. Really sorry. But, now, it's once again in my heart and mind. God has blessed you, and, thank you, and thru your passing, perhaps, I may once again, be connected thru you, to something much greater, and perhaps, have some long needed peace.......

God bless you Sister Janet Mead. You made God very relatable to me when I was 11 years old. Sing with the angels.

Sr. Janet was a wonderful woman of God. This lady encouraged me to know God. Through her love and her love of God and music especially worship music I developed a deeper faith and a love of worship music that continues to this day.
I left Adelaide in 1977 however I have always remembered this woman of God, who cared for others above self.
Sing before the Most High God Sr. Janet.
Thank you for your love and your encouragement to me and to thousands of others

Sister Janet Mead was my teacher and role model. She had the ability of bringing fun into the classroom whilst ensuring that we all learnt a great deal. She was a deeply empathic human who forever I shall cherish. I was fortunate enough to know her in the time she sang "Our Father". It was not her focus. She did this to inspire others in their faith. She organised the first rock mass in the cathedral. I still recall the joy this brought to all of us teenagers. She then went onto tirelessly work with great compassion with the homeless. I feel deeply fortunate for having personally known Sr Janet. She deserves her place in heaven and I am sure she has been already greeted with a joyful reception. Rest in peace dear Sr Janet Mead.

I remember using Sr Janet´s version of the Our Father at the Folk Mass when i was in High School. We were so happy to have that beautiful rendition to play on the guitar and sing at Mass that wasn´t considered "sacrilegious," or "not appropriate" for worship by our parents or even some parish priests.
Thank you, Sister, for your unwavering faithfulness and May God Rest your soul.
