Janet Shah Obituary
November 18, 1972 - April 19, 2022
Janet Given Shah passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at her home in Palo Alto surrounded by friends and family after a long battle with cancer.
Janet was born on November 18, 1972 to the late David Given and Susan (Woodbury) Given in Portland, Maine. Janet grew up in Gray, Maine and graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School in 1991. After high school, Janet earned her Bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire. After graduation, Janet worked in several fields. Most recently she created a start-up called TeenJobFind and had returned to school for nursing.
Janet is survived by her three beautiful children, Ravi, Meena, and Sanjay along with her mother, Susan Given, and her brother, Jeff Given.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Colon Cancer Coalition.
A celebration of life will be held at Filoli in Woodside, CA on May 17, 2022 starting at 5 pm with a reception immediately afterwards. For those attending please wear bright colors to help celebrate Janet's love of life.

My Dear Friend Janet,
When we met as work colleagues years ago, we immediately hit it off and became friends ever since. Thank you for being a friend, we had great times together. You showed me that people could do anything if they put their mind and dedication to it. So proud to watch you build your own business where it all started from a vision and made it all come true. You go girl!

Janet,
I´ll miss your smile and short giggle. You helped me through tough times. We talked about our kids and always remembered how loving and proud you were. I have you in my memory and thank you for being in my life. Love you Janet .

Janet,
You inspired me to consider soo many new possibilities in life, and I always felt ready to take positive action when we spoke. I enjoyed that we could help each other move forward with turning our "bucket lists" into realities. I´m so terribly sad that you have passed away. I wish our "budding" friendship had time to evolve more deeply, but I am grateful for the amazing quality of time that we did have. I know you as a fantastic person and especially as a super fantastic mother. I send warmest condolences to your family and friends. I look forward to honoring your vibrance and vivaciousness at the upcoming Celebration of Life event at Filoli - surrounded by beauty that fills the soul.
