Jean Hanson Obituary

Jean C. Hanson November 21, 1918 - January 14, 2008 Born in Oakland, CA, a long time resident of Piedmont, CA, and for the past 12 years lived in Dutch Flat, CA. She is survived by her husband of 66 years John E. Hanson; her son John E. Hanson Jr. (Darcy) of Susanville, CA; daughters, Margery H. Mathewson (Dave) of Medford, OR, and Diana Hanson of Dutch Flat, CA; her sister Margery C. Mackey of Prosser, WA; and her grandsons Wyatt and Bradford Hanson of Susanville, CA. Jean graduated from Piedmont High and UC Berkeley, class of '41 where she was Kappa Kappa Gamma and Torch and Shield. She was a past member of Hill Branch Children's Hospital, Piedmont Garden Club, Town and Country, and Claremont Country Club. She enjoyed all her friends, gardening, bridge, swimming, music, picnics and horses. She will be missed by all. Private family Service. Johnny,Jack ,Geri & Diana,jean was my closest & longest friend ,about

82 yrs,& i will miss her so !! so many cherished memories I will hold

There are so many more things to say about Mom....she loved nature & peace..she was recently interviewed by the Auburn Journal about the "surge" in Iraq...asked if it was a good idea she said "No" (& to paraphrase) that wars don't help us live peacefully together...
Well again, there is so much more about her that I will write another time, but will end with what she wrote down as her favorite quote....
"Do unto to others as you would have them do unto you...".
She is "over that rainbow" now, (that is how she referred to where she would be at this time) & I hope happy & peaceful.
