I am so terribly sad to learn of Jennifer´s passing. I had no idea. My love and support go to Chris and the girls (I guess they´re women now). Sending love and healing heart hugs across the US to all of you.

I met Jen on the first day of freshman year at Penn--1984. I figured that if everyone else I met was half the person that Jen was, I was lucky to have chosen Penn. Such a radiant, upbeat person. So sad to hear of her passing.

Our family was deeply grieved to learn of Jennifer's death. Mrs. Boyd was one of the main reasons we chose Commodore Sloat Elementary School for our son, because of its wonderful library, of which she was such an integral part. Jennifer was so clearly passionate about children's literature and I spent many happy hours during my volunteer time in the library discussing books with her. She put an incredible amount of her own time and love into this library, creating welcoming spaces for the children to read in, curating a diverse collection of books that had something for everyone, and by being a welcoming presence every time you walked in the door. She helped instill a sense of love and respect amongst the students for books, authors and the physical library itself. Her spirit and enthusiasm for learning will live on through those she touched during her life.

I had the great honor of working with Jennifer on a special, student-centered project in the Sloat library, 2017-18, her last, full school year. Jennifer designed the year-long project, and allowed me to photograph, videotape, and share her materials.
Jennifer's vibrant, engaging, warm, teaching style comes through in the video clips with the studentssome hilarious! Her persistent work in renovating and rebuilding the Sloat library is documented as well. Please enjoy this showcase of Jennifer's professional, highly skilled work as a teacher librarian. She was gifted and shared her love of learning with all her heart.

It was an honor sometimes representing Jennifer at the C.S. School library when she was unable to attend.
I created and presented to her in September a Strong Woman tribute with deep respect for the brilliant, loving, powerfully creative person I was fortunate to have known. Rest In Peace dear one.
