I was sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I worked with Jimmy at Oakland P.D. during the 70's and he was a great officer and even a better partner. Jimmy sense of humor could make the shift pass so quickly. Rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to Jim's family in their loss. It seems just like yesterday when we were just kids on the block(or hill)on 25th street in San Francisco. I will always remember "Moose" as the funny guy he was and, though, never saw again as we grew up, seems he remained the same sweet kid we knew.

Dear Jane and the Acevedo Family.

I was lucky enough to be introduced to and become friends with Jim and you Jane about two years ago...when I shook hands with Jim for the first time...I sensed "man this guy is sincerely a good guy"...found we had a bunch of stuff in common about life and looked forward to continuing a common interest in getting out on the water...well...in, on, and off the water..will always keep Jim in my heart and extend it to his family.

Dear Jane, Sal and the extended Acevedo family,

My sincere condolences on the loss of your dear Jim, he was such a colorful, upbeat and loving person, that it was a joy to know him for the brief period I had the privelege of caring for him.

He was so blessed by the love and care you all gave him. I know he will be with you always, and I hope you can find comfort in the joyous times and fun stories that recount in remembrance your time together.
Clearly, his family was the light of his life.

My thoughts and prayers to the Acevedo family.

Jim, you were a great classmate in the SFPD 154th Academy Class.

Many of us looked up to you because you were always level headed, easy to talk to, and we knew you had served with OPD. You always exuded professionalism but never lost that sense of humor.

Those were the good old days meeting and working with officers like you.

You were truly an asset to the members of the SFPD and the citizens of the City.

Thank you for being you.

Sincerely,
Jennifer Lee

I was lucky enough to meet Jim years ago at Taraval Station. Every time I think of him I remember that funny laugh, and always a smile. No matter if it was just going to a Stanford basketball game or out for a few drinks, he let you know you were a friend. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was the real thing.

It was an honor and even fun to have worked with Jimmy at Southern Station. Above all, he was an outstanding policeman, always doing 'the right thing' no matter how tough the job was. I can still picture Jimmy and Victor working as partners. San Francisco owes a huge debt to your family. Jimmy was taken too soon.

Uncle J,

You were by far the best uncle in the world and we were all so lucky to have you. I will never forget our camping trips and riding around on Dennis’ sea doo, or the first time that I heard the “f” word when you took Taylor and me to the San Fran jail. Visits to California and family trips won’t be the same without you! Miss you and love you always!

I have a lot of great memories of Jimmy, Dennis, George, Terry, Joe and Frank all laughting and capping on each other in high school. And then we all got married, had our kids and still continued getting together at our kids christsenings, birthday parties. We had our families and some of us moved away, but we always got together when we could. And when the guys would gather it was always the same fun times. We'll miss you Jimmy.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Acevedo family.

Jimmy,

I have so many fond memories of growing up with you as cousins and always looked up to you (and Dennis) as the big brothers I never had. From the family gatherings as kids especially those at Mama Tencha's house to those times as we got older were very special to me. You and the entire Acevedo family are a part of my life I'm so thankful to have. I still remember as a 10 year old the night we played football on the front lawn in the dark and you patiently taught me how to properly receive a handoff - you were cool and so giving, I’ll miss you. My thoughts and prayers go out to your wonderful wife, Jane and all the Acevedo’s. God bless and may you rest in rest peace. Love, Frankie.
