In Loving Memory of Joanne Bourdet Finnerty
Joanne Bourdet Finnerty, age 80, peacefully passed away on May 30, 2023, in Santa Rosa, California surrounded by her beloved family. Born and raised in San Francisco in 1943, Joanne was the daughter of Frank and Lilian Nomellini. She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas E. Finnerty, her children Bob (Kim) Bourdet and Bridgette (Rick) Porterfield, and her grandchildren Ariana (Roy) Tobias, Justin Bourdet, Kendall Porterfield, Elise Porterfield, and Julia Porterfield. She is also remembered by her step-children, Michael Finnerty, Michelle (D.J.) Marini, and Matthew (Ray Fleitas) Finnerty, and step-grandchildren Madison (Nick) Compogiannis, William Finnerty, and Alexa Finnerty. Joanne's life was marked by dedication to her family, and she will be deeply missed.
Prior to residing in Santa Rosa, Joanne lived in Novato and San Jose, where she built lifelong friendships. She remained connected to her classmates from St. Michael's School and Mercy High School in San Francisco throughout her lifetime. Joanne received an Interior Design degree from College of Marin and also attended Sonoma State University. With a natural flair for sales, Joanne embarked on a successful career that brought her numerous accolades and recognition for her outstanding performance. She was recognized for her leadership and became the first female chairman of the Silicon Valley Capital Club. Committed to making a difference, Joanne served on numerous nonprofit boards, lending her time and expertise to causes close to her heart. Joanne's commitment to her community was evident through her efforts in organizing fundraisers and social events. Joanne was an avid supporter of the San Francisco 49ers, Giants, and Warriors, as well as the San Jose Sharks.
Her absence leaves a void that will be felt by many. A celebration of Joanne's life will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at https://raise.stjude.org/fundraiser/4756061
Joanne Bourdet Finnerty, affectionately known as JoJo, was a source of strength and inspiration. May she find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to touch the lives of those she held dear.

She was a good friend and golf partner. We had many fun years together. We did keep in touch for as long as we could. I wish her family peace. Connie Abele

Very sad to see this. When I was a kid, there were days I would spend more time at Joanne's house hanging out with Bob than at my own house. Continued to be connected through college and early adulthood, as Bob and Kim had her grandkids, Ari and Justin. Been thinking about her in the past few years, thinking I would love to touch base... Really regret I never did... Will always have great memories of Joanne!!!
