John Brezzo

BREZZO, John - Passed away November 16, 2005, in Oakland, California, of natural causes at the age of 94. A 91 year resident of Oakland, he was born August 30, 1911, in Refrancore, Italy, to Pietro and Elisabetta Brezzo. John attended McClymonds High School where his many school activities culminated in his service as student body president. He served his entire career as a skilled pattern maker for ABC Pattern Works of Oakland contributing those skills to the WWII effort. John was a dedicated member of the St. Jarlath Catholic Church community, the Ensign Club, and the Oakland Chapter of S.I.R.S. His other interests included real estate, as well as traveling and dancing with his wife. John was a 58-year resident of 2840 Steinmetz Way, Oakland, and most recently was a resident of St. Paul's Towers in Oakland. He was a man of great integrity, high moral character and was always extremely gregarious. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by Olga, his loving wife of 68 years; his son, John Brezzo and wife Bonnie of San Jose; his grandchildren, Susan, Steven, Pietro and Marco; and five great-grandchildren. His beloved daughter Betty Ann Brezzo predeceased him. A morning Visitation and Viewing will be held from 8:30 to 9:15 a.m. on Monday November 21, 2005 at Albert Brown Mortuary at 3476 Piedmont Ave., Oakland, CA 94611. Funeral Services will be held at St. Jarlath Church on the corner of Pleasant St. and Fruitvale Ave. in Oakland on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be given in John Brezzo's name to the St. Elizabeth High School Scholarship Fund, 1530 34th Ave., Oakland, CA 94601.
