John Eliopoulos Obituary

John Eliopoulos Jr.

John, 48, of South San Francisco, died on Jan 4, 2021 in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on July 25, 1972 in San Francisco to John and Annette Eliopoulos. He is survived by his parents, John and Annette. His life partner of 21 years, Eileen Roldan Eliopoulos. His son Yiannis Eliopoulos, step-sons Anthony Eder (daughter in Law, Sacha) and Aaron Eder (daughter in Law, Vanessa). His sister, Anthansia Eliopoulos and brothers, Peter and Louie Eliopoulos. His niece and nephews, Athena, Steven and Clint John. His mother in law, Mary Ann Roldan and father in law Ernesto Roldan.

John was an excellent bowler, a bigtime bluffer in Texas' Hold em' and the life of the party at any function. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and never hesitated to lend a helping hand or steer you to the nearest bar to help you forget your troubles. He was a fan of the Niners, Giants and Warriors and always got lucky when it came to gambling. He was the type of person who would send you a random text, call you to check up on you or drive-by to catch you outside your home. He loved his Greek heritage and shared a love of Greek dancing with his son. He was funny and sarcastic to the very end and He will be deeply missed.

To know John, was to love John, and we will always remember him by his infectious smile, spiffy suits, witty comments and easy laugh. He was respected by many and loved by all. He got called from this world too soon but the impact he made on us will leave a mark on our hearts forever.

A funeral will be held to honor John on January 13th. Services will be live-streamed on John's Facebook account at 11:30 AM PST. Please contact his family for details.

Dear John & Annette, Anastasia, Peter, Louie, Eileen, Yiannis, Anthony, Aaron, Your Johnny was known as one of the nicest persons in the entire Greek Orthodox Community. He was always smiling, friendly, and polite. While he surely is missed, be assured that Johnny is in Heaven with God.

I was very saddened to hear of John's passing. My deepest condolences to John's wife and his family; his parents John and Annette; his siblings, Peter, Louie and Anthansia; and all his many relatives. My family and I got to know the Eliopoulos family when we were neighbors in Serramonte in the early 1970's. I have very fond memories of attending the Greek parties to celebrate birthdays, name days, baptismals etc. I remember John as a little boy having a great time particpating in the Greek parties and chasing his siblings and cousins around. Although I didn't know John as an adult his obituary describes what a great person he was. Rest in peace John.

That eternal smile and laugh has never left me since high school. You were always the life of the party. You brighten the room you entered with your wit and charm. You will be missed Johnny by all who knew and loved you. Condolences to his wife and family. We lost a gem but all gained an angel.
