Jose R. Vallejo died peacefully on February 24th, 2022 with his children by his side. He is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Aurora Arce.

Jose was born in Villa Obregon, Jalisco Mexico on March 23rd, 1923.
A victim of Mexico's post revolution strife, he and his sister were orphaned at a young age.

While he dreamt of becoming an engineer, the reality was that he had to seek his fortunes away from his beloved homeland. Working the fields in the mid-west, he made his way to New York in the 1940's and was enthralled with the rhythms and flavors of the Big Apple until he visited San Francisco and fell in love with what he called a 'little town'. It was in that 'little town' that he met the love of his life, Aurora Arce.

Jose and Aurora married on Valentine's Day in 1949 and began a lifelong journey of promises kept and promises broken, dreams fulfilled, and dreams forgotten, love forgotten, and love rekindled. In short, they lived life together. In their shared life, they raised six children: Silvio /Silv(d), Alina/Lina(d) , Gustavo /Goosey ,Elsa, Jose/Pepe and Vera/Chata.

Simultaneously working 2 jobs at Southern Pacific and delivering the morning newspapers with his wife, Jose carved out the time to attend college and earn a degree in electrical engineering. Armed with that degree, Jose began a TV repair business that sustained his growing family for 50 years. With a customer base that extended from Pacific Heights to Hunter Point, Jose often performed service repairs at no cost when he saw a family struggling to make ends meet.

Jose leaves behind several cousins, nephews and nieces in both the United States and Mexico as well as 15 known grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Tuesday March 1st and Wednesday March 2nd from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City and burial services on Thursday March 3rd at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
