Joseph (Joe) Cardinale, age 98 of Danville CA, passed away peacefully on May 13th, 2025. Known for his big heart, sharp wit, and infectious smile, he brought joy wherever he went.
Born on March 26th, 1927 in San Francisco, Joe served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following his service, he built a long and successful career with AT&T, where he worked for 38 years and met his future wife. He married Margaret (Marge) Toracs in 1950, and together they built a life full of love. As a father and grandfather, he was playful, present, and proud - a steady source of joy, comfort, and encouragement.
Whether teeing off on the golf course, gliding across the dance floor, or enjoying a glass of cabernet with family and friends, Joe had a gift for turning the everyday into something memorable. He didn't need a special occasion - he simply brought the good time with him.
He is survived by his daughter Debbie McClure (Kevin), granddaughter Nicole McClure, and multiple nieces and nephews, all of whom carry his spark and spirit forward. He was preceded in death by his wife Marge, son Steven, and brothers Tony (Sis) and Sam (Isabelle).
A service will be held on Wednesday May 21st at Duggan's Serra Mortuary in Daly City at 11:00am, followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery and celebration of life. The family welcomes friends to gather, raise a glass, and share memories of the man who made life better - and more fun - for all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Dementia Society of America (www.DementiaSociety.org/donate) - or simply toast to him with a glass of red wine and a smile.
He lived well, laughed often, and left a mark that won't fade. We'll miss him more than words can say - and we'll carry his joy with us, always.
