Josephine Jayme Gerardo, 80, of San Francisco, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 19, 2025.
She was born on January 18, 1945, in the Philippines to Demetrio and Justina Jayme. Josephine earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Lone Mountain College for Women and devoted more than 40 years to her career as a clinical laboratory scientist at Seton Medical Center and St. Joseph's Hospital. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong parishioner at St. Monica's Church in San Francisco.
Josephine was the devoted widow of Francisco Gerardo Jr., and a loving mother to Marie Angela (dec.), Marissa, and Marc (Daneil). She was the cherished "Lola" to Kennedy and Reeve. She was the beloved sister of Ernesto (Victoria), Demetrio Jr., Ramon (Patricia, dec.), Antonio (Karen), Alfredo, Ben (dec.) (Kathi), and Lisa (Lester), as well as many loving sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 6 p.m., with a viewing from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave, Daly City. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 29, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Augustine's Catholic Church, 3700 Callan Blvd, South San Francisco, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
Flowers are welcome, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josephine's memory to The Miracle League North Bay, 40-Fourth Street, Suite 286, Petaluma, CA, 94952.
