Judith Haas Stein Rehfeld died suddenly at home from a ruptured brain aneurysm on August 10th, 2024, in Ventura, California, at age 67.
Born in San Francisco to Frances Lilienthal Stein and Laurence Stein, Judy attended Burke's, Branson, and the University of Puget Sound, graduating with a double major in French and International Relations with a minor in Spanish. Raised in a Jewish home, she became a Christian in college.
Marrying Joseph Rehfeld shortly after graduation, they celebrated their wedding at her family home, the Haas-Lilienthal House. She worked as an executive assistant for several tech companies including Microsoft prior to staying home to raise three boys. She loved cooking and baking and always had a freezer full of chocolate-chip cookies. She quickly established their house as a loving, welcoming home. This was true throughout her time in Seattle, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Judy loved Jesus and studying and teaching the Bible. She was a mentor to many and volunteered at church and local elementary schools, teaching Spanish and English as a Second Language. She was involved for seven years on the Parents Council at Westmont College.
Judy was predeceased by her son Jeffrey and is survived by Joe Rehfeld, her husband of nearly 45 years, sons Jason (Roxanne) Rehfeld, and Jimmy (Abi) Rehfeld, and grandson Levi Rehfeld.
