I’m in utter shock. My heart hasn’t returned to my body yet. Julia and I were best friends in high school and later in life. I spent so much time with Julia and her parents and Nancy at her wonderful mom and dad’s house and considered them my “second parents” while I had an absent father. We shopped together, swam in their pool, sunbathed and so many more things I can’t begin to list. I drive by Mrs. Price’s home all of the time and I want to stop to say hello. Will she know me anymore? Their family was my family and safe place. Julia was a beautiful soul inside and out. We both loved our many kitties, though I don’t think she had 10 at once like I did rescuing animals in need. She did name one of my kitties after I described him: Sundance, who is 17 years old now and still light on his crippled-from-birth-feet. I was very saddened with a last parting, but this far outweighs everything. Sweet friend, I know that you are like a beautiful butterfly now, with colorful and exquisite wings, collecting and designing your heavenly and infinite space. I love you. Please come visit. We are both empaths and I am just overwhelmed by this shocking discovery. I can’t believe it... To Julia’s wonderful, beautiful family, I am sure her departure is still shocking and I send my deepest love. Thank you for being so supportive of Julia’s and my deep friendship, and thank you for making my childhood bearable and fun. ❤

My Sunday routine is to read the obituaries. It is not for any sinister or depressing reason, but rather an enlightened one. I comb them to seek out the qualities of a life well lived. In reading Julia’s obituary I was struck by how fully present she was in her life, and how much she cared for others. I offer my sincere condolences as you mourn the physical loss of Julia. What an amazing legacy she leaves behind. Stairway to Heaven is on my playlist. Thank you.
