Julie Beck Obituary
06/23/1951 - 03/30/2025
Julie Ray Beck, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away, on March 30, 2025, at the age of 73.
Adored wife of the late George Beck for 25 years, Julie was the devoted mother of Jenna and Lexie, and proud "Jma" to her grandchildren, Chloe, Gianna, Rebekah, Abraham and Rachael. She was also a cherished stepmother to Bonnie Alesna.
Julie was born in Medford, Oregon, to Joan and Eugene Ray. She graduated from Arizona State University.
Her professional journey began at Del Monte Corporation in San Francisco. Seeking more meaningful work, she joined Wohlfieler & Beck, CPAs in 1975, where she earned her CPA license. It was there that she met her future husband and partner, George Beck. The two were married in 1982 and, by 1987, were co-owners of the renamed firm Beck, Marder & Beck, CPAs. Together, they built a successful practice and worked side by side until George's passing in 2007. The firm was later acquired by DZH Phillips, where Julie continued to serve her loyal clients until her retirement.
Julie was incredibly smart, hardworking, and deeply admired by those around her. She was the kind of woman people looked up to-and many aspired to be. Her sharp intellect, grace, and natural confidence inspired everyone who had the privilege of working with her or knowing her personally.
Julie and George shared a passion for fine dining and world travel-values they passed on to their daughters from an early age. Julie had a magnetic personality; she could make friends anywhere, had a brilliant sense of humor, and made people feel instantly comfortable in her presence.
She is survived by her daughters and grandchildren; her sister, Barbara Knutson; her brothers, Landy Ray and Gary Ray; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of treasured friends.
Julie will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing and loving her.
