Kazuo Yamada Obituary

Kazuo Robert Yamada Born January 30, 1920, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2006. Born in San Francisco, Bob was sent during World War II with other loyal Japanese Americans to Topaz internment camp, then served as a Japanese language instructor for the U.S. military. He lived many years in El Cerrito and was a proud member of Retail Clerks Union 1179. He is survived by his loving wife Sachi; sister, Emiko; children, Barbara and Kenneth and grandchildren, Derek, Darin, Connor, Cole, Ryan and Kathryn; preceded in death by his oldest son William. All are invited to a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 28, 10 a.m. at Berkeley Higashi Honganji Buddhist Temple, 1524 Oregon Street, Berkeley.

Bob will be missed by me and the other seniors at the center. I remember he was always friendly, helpful and ready for a joke or laughter. I never heard him say a bad thing about another person..
