Kenneth Michael Krause

Kenneth Michael Krause of Pacifica, CA, passed away unexpectedly at his home of a cardiac related condition on November 30, 2020, at the age of 73. Ken was born in San Diego, CA, on October 15, 1947. He is cherished and survived by his loving and devoted wife Judy of 48 years, and his three children Renee, Christopher, and Kevin as well as their caring spouses. Ken is loved and remembered dearly by his four sisters, Kathy Monterrosa and her husband Alex, Karen Aeschliman and her husband Dale, Kristine Eastman and her husband Rick, and Kerry Eastman and her husband Bob, as well as his brother Kirk Krause and his wife Stephanie, in addition to his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Helen Krause in 2016 and by his father, Emil Anthony Krause in 2003.
Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, godparent, and friend, Ken lived his early years in the Potrero Hill district of San Francisco until his family relocated to the Westlake area of Daly City, where he spent the majority of his youth and made many memories with his friends. He attended St. Peter's grammar school in San Francisco and graduated from Riordan High School in 1965, where he fondly earned the nickname "Moose." He went on to receive his Associates Degree at Skyline College in San Bruno, CA, in 1971 where he was the Vice President of his class.
It was at Skyline College that he met his beautiful wife Judy, and they were married on May 20, 1972. He established his home in Pacifica in 1974, and worked for the SEIU Local 250 as a Lead Representative for many years. A savvy and sharp businessman, Ken moved forward to establish two successful businesses: Streeter & Associates and Spectra Healthcare Management, which he successfully managed for over a decade. He returned to work for the SEIU in his later years until retirement.
Ken was a family man with a huge heart and keen sense of humor, and loved to always make everyone laugh. As a young parent he was an AYSO soccer coach for 7 years, and he also coached Little League for a time. A true Crusader, Ken belonged to Club 65 along with many of his cherished classmates from Riordan High School, and enjoyed gathering with them regularly at alumni dinners which always energized him and filled him with joy. He loved collecting stones and spent many hours in his lapidary shack polishing rocks and turning them into beautiful creations. Ken had a passion for steam trains and belonged to the Golden Gate Lionel Railroad Club, and got a kick out of running his own locomotive train track in his office at home. He was a skilled woodworker throughout his life, and built everything from forts and fences to planter boxes and birdhouses. He loved hanging out in his beautiful backyard garden and regularly monitored the creek that flowed through his property. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed football and was a fan of college football games.
Known in his later years for wearing his trademark overalls, Ken loved nothing more than gathering with his family on the holidays for jokes, stories, and a little Disaronno on the rocks. He loved his two rescued dogs Cookie and Darby, and during his life has owned many beloved dogs and cats. Albeit a humble man, he was proud of his Italian heritage and we remember collectively, with smiles and gratitude, the many significant accomplishments of his life. Stemming from his generous spirit, his passion was to provide, to protect, and to help people.
Remembered for his joy, his humor, his charisma, and his natural ability to captivate an audience and make them laugh, we will love him and celebrate him always.
In the words of one of his close friends, "Kenny would light up a room. He was a breath of fresh air. He's probably making God laugh right now!"
Ken will be buried at Holy Cross cemetery near his mother and father. Due to current pandemic restrictions, funeral service participation is limited; the family anticipates hosting a large celebration of life for Ken next year in the fall, conditions permitting.
