Kevin Daly Obituary
After completing his studies, (1949, St. Ignatius College Preparatory; BS Biology,1953 UC Davis; Ph.D, 1958, Cornell University), Kevin accepted a position at California State University Northridge as a profesor of biology in 1960. A dedicated educator, he remained at CSUN until 2001, when he retired to San Francisco.
Kevin, beloved father and "Papa", is survived by his three children: Angela (Mathew) O'Connor, Micaela Daly (Kevin Simon), and Brooks Daly; and his grandchildren: Griffin, Kieran, and Rory O'Connor; and Cormac, Annika, Rowan, and Beccan Simon. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Brian Daly.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 2, 2015, at St. Cecilia's Church at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Ignatius College Preparatory Scholarship Fund, 2001 37th Avenue, San Francisco, 94116.

Dr. Daly was one of my biology instructors at Cal State Northridge (then San Fernando Valley State College) back in the the early sixties, and I worked with him for a semester as his biology lab assistant! I'm happy that he led a good, long life!

Kevin was a scholar and teacher who always demanded the best from his students in a disciplined, formal setting. He was a loyal friend and colleague. He was distinguished for his love of music, art, flowers, his San Francisco home, and gracious entertaining. Most of all he was a proud father and grandfather who delighted in the accomplishments of his children. He extended this pride and interest to include the children of his friends. I treasure the memories of conversations, concerts, recipe requests, and all the many facets of this brilliant, complex friend. May he rest in peace.
