Kevin Geno Obituary

Kevin Geno
08/02/1954 - 06/20/2024
On Thursday, June 20, 2024, the Summer Solstice, our Kevin passed away peacefully. Kevin loved the summer solstice, daylight at its longest! Kevin knew time was limited and was not concerned about aging with grace, but rather with mischief, audacity, and a good story to tell!
A fourth generation San Franciscan, Kevin was the son of Dorothy Roberts Geno and Jeff Geno, and he is survived by his wife, Lori Ottolini Geno, his sons, Gregory Geno and wife, Samantha Silvia Geno and granddaughters, Charlotte Jane and Elizabeth Dolores, and Christopher Geno and his wife, Zhongying Geno. His extended family include cousins, Richard and Armi Geno and Claudia and Bill Brunick, in-laws, Bruce Ottolini, Julie and Steve McGovern, Jennifer Ottolini and Wendy Bear, Nicole and Brian Vineys, nieces, Meghan McGovern Salas and Madison Vineys, along with extended nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Being an only child, he looked to his lifelong friends from Westlake, St. Ignatius College Preparatory '72, University of San Francisco '76, The Olympic Club, along with the many friends and colleagues he met along life's travels throughout the world to share in his adventures and misadventures, to build meaningful relationships and to join him to sharing life's joys, sorrows and other important matters. This included Thanksgiving, where one might find themselves at Kevin and Lori's table, when Kevin took great pleasure in asking his guests to share their thoughts and stories in response to his annual "Thanksgiving Question."
Kevin moved through this world with kindness, steadfastness, honesty, humor, integrity, a love of fun, and offering bit of nudging when necessary. He valued love of family and friends. He believed life was an echo, what you sent into the world comes back to you, so always send your best.
In honor of a life well lived, contributions to the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank or your local Food Bank, where he was a longtime volunteer and donor, would be greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will take place in September 2024.

Happy Birthday Kev. Lori and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to Kevin. An Eastgate legend with the best laugh and sense of humor, and proud Ignatian!! Kevin was a true family man, always so proud of all of them. RIP my friend

My prayers are with your family at this time. I grew up across the street from the Geno's on Eastgate and like Kevin hold the fond memories of Westlake, OLM and so on. Some memories of his mom and grandmother as well. May he rest in peace.

Kevin taught me so much. He was a true partner. He laughed so much. I aspire to live like Kevin did.

To Kevin's Family,

Please accept my sympathy for your loss of Kevin. I went to Our Lady of Mercy Grammar School in Westlake with Kevin and he was always so nice to everyone, always so kind. That never changed in high school when I saw him quite frequently on Eastgate Drive, or even as an adult when we would occasionally run into each other. A constant, solid good man...you were very blessed to have had him in your lives. Definitely gone too soon.

Rest well, Kevin, Godspeed, I hope the angels were there waiting for you.

Dear Lori and Family,

I was shocked and sad to see Kevin in the obituary. My heart goes out to you Lori.
I know how you feel. My husband went to heaven 4/11/24. I think of you often. Maybe we can get together. May you and your family get through this hard time by remembering all your good times and the memories you will always have.
