Kim Yee Obituary

YEE, Kim Yong Tang Kwock - Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, age 94, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2005 surrounded by her daughters and much love. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Alfred, her youngest, Frances, and her sons-in-law, Gary Leung and Hon Ping Jue. She is survived by her children, Judy Mong Jue, Tony Mong Kwock (Amy), Jane Mong Carbine, May Mong, Gloria Mong Lew (York) and Richard Mong Yee (Rima), and 12 grandchildren and four great-grand children. Kim was born July 6, 1910 in Tung Hing Lane, Woo Lung Village, Hoi Ping, Canton, China, immigrated to the United States in 1947 and resided in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked side by side with her husband in the restaurant and grocery business for over 30 years. After her husband passed on, she moved to northern California and later moved to the Bay Area. Kim enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, gardening and most of all rearing her children to be successful. Her favorite activities include playing Mah Jong weekly with her friends, and watching Chinese movies. We remember her as a very kind, generous and giving person, an extremely energetic and remarkably sharp woman throughout her entire life. Wherever Kim went, she made many friends, whom she cherished and remembered as part of her family. Families and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Friday, March 11, 2005 from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2005 at 11 am at HALSTED N. GRAY-CAREW & ENGLISH, 1123 Sutter St., San Francisco. Interment will follow at Six Company Cemetery, Daly City. In her memory donations can be made to Yee Fung Toy Family Association, 131 Waverly Place, San Francisco, CA 94108; Ong Ko Met Association, 719 Grant Ave., San Francisco, CA 94108 or Saint Francis Memorial Hospital Foundation Office 12th Flr, 900 Hyde St., San Francisco, CA 94109. Mom...miss you so much. Hard to believe tomorrow you left this earthly life 17 years ago. I'm sure you are happy with Dad, Frances, Gary, Ping and other loved family and friends, playing mahjong and eating delicious Chinese food. I so miss your cooking...I should have been more diligent in learning to cook from you. :( Love you forever. XOXOXOX

Mom, it's been one year since you left this earth. I often think about you. Today my lower back started to hurt for no reason and it rained very hard. It is as if I missed you so much and my heart is crying and the heaven is too. I have tried to have some direction with my life, but seem lost, because I don't have your word of wisdom guiding me. I have a comfort knowing that you taught me right and I will make the right choices in life.

XOXOXO to you and dad.

It's been almost nine months since Mom returned home to heaven. I've missed our weekly phone conversations. Mom was such a gentle and remarkable woman. Thanks Mom for everything. Love, Gloria

Yesterday was Dad's 25th anniversary since he left us. I still remember the day that he died. I was at the cemetery today, the monument is now completed. I was also sadden to learn of my dear best friends death today. Brian was my friend for over fifty years. May Mom and Dad help welcome Brian home to our Father in Heaven.
