Krysta Tsukahara Obituary

Krysta Tsukahara
12/06/2004 - 11/27/2024
A beautiful soul that will be loved and cherished forever.
On November 27, we lost our sweet Krysta in a tragic car accident in Piedmont, California.
Krysta was born in San Francisco on December 6, 2004, to her parents, Carl and Noelle Tsukahara; and to her brother, Jared. She was a rambunctious child, full of life and curiosity, with a strong will and a funny and theatrical persona and spirit, even at a very young age. In her early youth, she loved having fun doing little family performances, singing, and acting, making her family and friends laugh.
As she grew older, she began to show a deep, personal eye towards aesthetics, style, fashion, and organization. We called her our little Marie Kondo due to the incredible cleanliness of her room, and marveled as she asked for a custom closet organizer for her birthday. She would also sometimes change her outfits multiple times daily to fit her mood and design eye at any particular moment.
While she occasionally struggled with confidence and peer acceptance in high school, she fought to overcome her insecurities. With the support of many, she enrolled and was thriving at the Savannah College of Arts and Design, majoring in Fashion Design and at the top of her class.
Krysta was a kind, determined, and giving spirit, growing in confidence daily as she learned how much the world saw her talent, warm heart, and generous soul. She cared so much for her family and friends and learned that all relationships are not created equal. The family will miss and cherish the memories of the frequent video calls, beautiful vacations, thrift store shopping, golf and beach outings, and everything else that made her a bright and shining light that can never be dimmed.
The Tsukahara family would like to thank our families, dear friends, and neighbors for their incredible support and kindness in helping us through this unimaginable grief. In addition, we wanted to express special thanks to our families, to Krysta's closest friends, to the Katter family, and to Jeremy Bowers, for their incredible grace during this time.
While she may be physically gone, please know that her impact on her family, friends, and the world will glow brightly, forever. For those who knew her, please keep her in your memories for us, for all time.
A memorial for Krysta will be held on December 28, at the Sequoyah Country Club, at a to-be-announced time.

Grateful to have known Krysta as a shy but athletic and competitive, young softball player. With her unique style (hat always cocked slightly to the side), Krysta was a bright light. Not only was her athleticism on full display every practice, but her kindheartedness helped establish a wonderful team culture. She was beloved. I wish she would have stayed with our team; the other girls benefitted from her unique personality - quiet, kind, determined.
Never forgotten. Rest in peace, angel.

Like 1 or 2 years ago a trend on TikTok got popular among all the high schools in the world and a video of Piedmont High got popular and I started to watch their little videos and I followed some of the kids on instagram as I thought they were so cool! Among them there was Krysta who I honestly thought was very pretty and so well dressed! Therefore sometimes I would go checking her page on instagram as I really liked her aesthetic and today I found out she was gone, I am so sad. I´m call Bea, I´m a 20 years old girl from Italy, I send you my deepest condolences and I pray for Krysta and her family

I am so very sorry for your loss. My kid knew Krysta from school. He wasn´t super close to her, but they shared many mutual friends and classes and he has so far many fond memories of her. He was crushed when he found out and still is. We spent an entire morning crying together, and are still texting about it. How to process something so unimaginable? So sad? Sending lots of solidarity and light to her family and friends. Her light will always remain so strong. I am so so sorry.

I had only spoken to Krysta a handful of times, but she was a classmate of mine this past quarter in a public speaking course. I was so nervous about taking this class, but whenever I went up to present, there were a few students I would look to for support-Krysta was always one of them. Whether it was a small nod while she knit or an encouraging smile, she had a way of making me feel supported, even though we had just met this quarter. My heart goes out to her family and to all who knew her. I´m so sorry for your loss.
