Lillian Galli Obituary

Lillian Galli

August 30, 1926 - July 15, 2017

Left us at the age of 90 (but still thought she was 26) after a long life as our family matriarch.
Lillian was born and raised in San Francisco to Mihran and Hamaspure Vartanian along with her older brother Richard (92 years old) and her younger sister Rosie (deceased). She graduated from Polytechnic High School and from that point forward remained one of the most popular characters in whatever social group came next. She dated the love of her life, Roddy Galli (who died at the young age of 52), for eight years before finally getting married and starting a family at the age of 35. She leaves behind her two children Greg (Cheryl) Galli and Lisa (Nick) Logothetis as well as her four grandchildren Alexa Logothetis, Anaselia Galli, Roddy Galli and Demitra Logothetis, her nephew John Heinzel and his family as well as many extended family and friends who she loved dearly.
"Lil" made an impression on many people of all ages. More than anything, she loved to dance, and she kept on doing that from her high school days until her final months. Her lesson to us all was - no matter the circumstances or your age...you never stop dancing!
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to honor her life at 11:00 am on Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. John Armenian Apostolic Church - 275 Olympia Way, San Francisco.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: Mission Hospice - 1670 S. Amphlett Blvd., San Mateo, CA 94402.

The first time I met Lillian she was an instant inspiration! Her flare for life was contagious, and her personal style was lovely. She had such wonderful stories to share. Each time I was in her good company, she always made me smile with admiration and laugh! We all only hope to have the spunk and zest for life that Lillian had. Her family is so lucky to have learned so many good traits from her and always know that she will be in your hearts forever. We'll never forget her. Xo

My Wife initially met Lil and Roddy Galli in the early 1960's when we moved into the Crestmoor Park San Bruno neighborhood. I'm sure that everyone who ever came into contact with Lil and Roddy will agree that they were just "Marvelous". They raised wonderful children who are a reflection of their love for one another and a credit to the community. Their generous personalities and a willingness to include everyone touched all who came into contact with them.

Lil, Maureen and I love you and know that you have joined Roddy in Heaven. God Speed..

Greg, I'm sorry to hear of your mother's death, unfortunately I will not be able to attend her memorial as you know way. I can't believe that your mother and my wife have memorials on the same day. I guess we will have something in common for the rest of our lives. But i definitely say a prayer for your mom at Kathy's mass. Larry
