I was just remembering what a transformative impact Dr. Chown had on my life when I was a first-year student in her American Literature course (and then many more classes after!). I am deeply saddened to learn of her passing. She was an amazing teacher-scholar-poet who inspired me with her enthusiasm. Her kindness made me feel like I belonged.

I´m so sorry to learn this sad news. It was my honor to have been able to publish Linda´s poetry in several issues of my arts and literary journal: Meat for Tea: The Valley Review. This February, Meat for Tea Press published a stunning little book of her poems titled Annie: How She Came to Be. I´d love to send a copy of this book to her next of kin.

I am so sorry to read the news of Linda's passing. I never really met Linda but we became FB friends after the passing of my Sister Patsy Reeves. Patsy and Linda became friends when they both lived overseas many years ago and remained friends over the years. May her memory always be a blessing to her family and friends

Linda's life, her kind heart, her fierce mind, her brave spirit has brought meaning into this world. With our grief we celebrate with joy what she has given us.

Jennifer and family, I loved taking care of Linda for the last few years. I have missed seeing her every Thursday. Who is going to read poems to me, now. I know she loved you all so much. If there is anything I can do to help, back in in Grand Rapids, please let me know.

Enjoyed our times together watching movies and taking care of flowers. She liked the way I cooked carrots! Linda was my first client. Learned a lot from her.

As a Caregiver at HomeInstead, I enjoyed helping Linda, and driving her to Doctor Appointments. She will be Sadly Missed, she was a Lady of Wisdom.
