Born May 11, 1938 in San Francisco at French Hospital to parents, Lars and Bertha, who immigrated from Norway. Lloyd passed away March 10, 2025 in Grass Valley.
Attending schools in San Francisco, he graduated from Lincoln High in 1956 and Cal Berkeley in 1960, remaining active on the Reunion Committees for many years.
After spending 4 years in the US Navy, he retired as a LTJG. He had the opportunity to command many men on the USS Radford. Lloyd married Bobbie in 1960 and had 2 daughters and 2 sons. Upon their divorce, he married Diane in 1978, a mother of 1 son and 1 daughter.
Lloyd and Diane spent 45 wonderful years together.
As a sailing enthusiast, Lloyd served as Commodore of the Berkeley Yacht Club for 2 years. He built the Berkeley Marine Center as well as owning a shrimp fishing vessel in West Africa and developing Squaw Ridge Area in Squaw Valley.
Lloyd and Diane lived in Berkeley before moving to Grass Valley, Ca in 2004 where they designed and built a home that they lived in for 10 years. Ready to downsize in 2014, they relocated to Nevada City.
As a CPA, Lloyd was especially proud of his practice and gave special treatment to his clients. He served on the Board of Directors for both the Nevada County Center for the Arts and Grape Growers Association.
Traveling was important to Lloyd and Diane. They enjoyed many trips to Norway, Africa and around the USA. He loved golf,ham radio, and making (and drinking) wine, and spending time with his family. He adored his 4 Golden Retrievers, his most recent being Millie who is healthy and happy remaining by Diane's side.
Lloyd is survived by wife, Diane, sons, Michael and David, stepson, Tom Fisher, and grandchildren, Tami, Faun, Lillyanne, and Deion.
