Lorraine D. Pastorino

PASTORINO, Lorraine D. - Passed away December 11, 2005, in Burlingame. She was the beloved wife of the late Ricco Pastorino for 59 years before he died in 1997; mother of Marlene Ahlbach and Hank Pastorino, and father-in-law of Donald Ahlbach; proud grandmother of Scott Pastorino and Justin and Adam Ahlbach; dear sister of Mardell Reynolds. Besides Lorraine's love of her piano music, she indeed dedicated herself unselfishly in the early years to Ricco's farm business. In addition to her own husband and children, she cooked (plentifully) and cared for the farm workers in Pacifica (Pedro Valley Ranch) and in San Bruno (Tanforan and Skyline Ranches). In later years, she must have been pleased when the crops of artichokes, cabbage and Brussels sprouts changed to roses, carnations and snapdragons and the business moved to Half Moon Bay. For the past 35 years she has been the matriarch of the Pastorino Pumpkin Farm - never stopping her cooking and caring. Friends may visit Wednesday, December 14, after 3:00 P.M. and are invited to attend a Vigil Service that evening at 7:30 P.M. at O'Connell's Chapel, 1311 S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend William J. Ahlbach on Thursday, December 15, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Matthew's Church, 9th Avenue and El Camino Real, San Mateo.
