Manuel Jimenez Obituary

Manuel "Noel/Jim" Alatorre Jimenez March, 31, 1918 - December 24, 2007 Passed on Christmas eve at home in Oakland. Preceded by the passing of his son Richard; mother, Teresa and three brothers, Andres I, Andres II and Salvatore. Survived by his loving wife Juanita; sons, daughters, grandchildren, godchildren, sisters, a brother, nieces, and nephews scattered across the US but mostly from California to Texas along with many Loving friends. Born to immigrant parents of Mexico in Jerome, AR, and raised in Sutter Creek, CA, by his loving mother Teresa. "Jimenez" as he was known to many, was employed by the US Government all of his working life. Six years in the United States Marine Corps, Carlson Raiders 2nd Battalion (elite group of men) during WWII, serving most of his time in the South Pacific (Guadalcanal B.S.I). After his discharge from the Corp, he went to work as a private investigator for the US Navy at Naval Supply Center in Oakland (40 years) where he met his wife Juanita, raised their family and resided most of his working and retired life. Manuel, was a very loving humble and forgiving man. He would give his shirt off his back to anybody who asked for it. He always reached out to children in need. He was known to give to many, but was always heart struck when it came to needy children. If it wasn't for Manuel or other men like him we wouldn't be here today. A special Mass will be held in his honor at St Elizabeth Church, 1500 34th Ave., Oakland, CA 94601. All friends and family are encouraged to attend. There will be a celebration of his life immediately after the Mass. All who come are invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Casa de la Esperanza Orphanage (make checks out to) that is in Tijuana, Baja California/Mexico. Please send donations to Capo Beach Calvary, 25975 Domingo Ave., Capistrano Beach, CA 92624. Your donations will be hand delivered to the orphanage. http://www.capocalvary.com/ministries/casa/index.html Questions, please email or call Guy or Karen McDaniels at [email protected] (949) 492-8593.
