Marc Martini passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 17, 2013 at the age of 70.
Born and raised in France, he brought his family to San Francisco on September 28, 1982 where he has resided since. Marc grew to become a well-known, respected and trusted member of the French Community in the Bay Area; a community in which he was an active participant as President of La Foundation de Bienfaisance Mutuelle, past Board member of The French Hospital, Secretary and Board Member of the French American Foundation for Medical Research and Education, Past Master of La Parfaite Union, a Member of l'Union des Français de l'Etranger and Chevalier de la Confrerie des Vignerons de St. Vincent de Macon.
Marc is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Claude, his mother Andrée, his sons Stéphane and Laurent, his brother Armand, sister and brother-in-law Suzanne and Claude, daughters-in-law April and Veronica, beloved grand-children Sophie and Henri, as well as countless friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 28 at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame des Victoires - 566 Bush St in San Francisco - followed by committal in the family plot at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the French American Foundation for Medical Research and Education Foundation.

My heart is with the Martini family, during this time: wishing you all peace and healing. Marc Martini was a wonderful man. I'm grateful to have met him. Sam and I wish we could be there in person. But we will be there in spirit and will share a song and a glass of wine in honor of Marc.
