Mark Murphy Obituary

Mark James Murphy
August 29, 1951 - September 4, 2021
Mark James Murphy was born August 29, 1951 and passed away on September 4, 2021 after a long illness.
A San Francisco native, he attended St. Philip's and Sacred Heart (Class of '69); he considered bartending at Tower Lodge and the Jury Room equally as informative. A longtime member of Local 510 Sign & Display Union, Mark was predeceased by his parents John Q. and Mary Sue, sister Mary and daughter Cherise Cross. He is remembered for his quick wit, love of family and animals, and being an avid sports fan.
Survived by his wife of 34 years Mary Jo, children Kyle and Quin, siblings Chris (Julie), Susie (Glen), Jeanne (Buddy), Anne (Tito), grandsons, great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life mass will be held on September 16th, 2021 at St. Philip's Church at 10:00am followed by graveside service at Holy Cross Cemetery. He winged it through life and now he's an angel.

Gone form our sight, but never from our hearts. Grew up across the street from the Murphy´s who were kind enough to treat me like family. If me and his sisters had problems with bullies on the block we run to Mark and he take care of it, made us feel like big shots. As teenagers we would run to the Jury room Mark was the first out door to bail us out. Mark had bigger than life persona with a heart to match. Condolences to Mark family and friends. So many memories. Hugs to Jeanne ,Susie and Anna love you Matt
