Mark Hormoz Samii

On October 8, 2015, Mark Hormoz Samii, passed away peacefully at his home in Novato, California with his wife of 30 years, Lily Samii at his side.

Mark was born in 1926 in Tehran, Iran, the youngest of three children.
A devoted husband, father and uncle. Mark had two sons from his previous marriage: Greg (Slider) and Camron who gave him two beautiful granddaughters Darci Samii Pacewicz and Dr. Nicole Samii, his nieces, Ladan Samii Saleh, Neeki Zohadi and nephews Dr. Ata Samii and Ariya Zohadi.

Mark came from distinguished family. His father was minister of foreign affairs and served as Iran's ambassador to European countries. His early education was in various countries; after WWII Mark came to United State to continue his higher education. He received his bachelor degree from University of Utah in Logan Utah, and Mechanical Engineering Degree from UC Berkeley.

Mark's professional career was with Pacific Gas and Electric Company. After 32 years of distinguished service he retired in 1987 and later SPIMCO International where he was president and CEO. He also co founded Lily Samii Collection in 1994 in San Francisco.

An elegant, charming and nurturing man. His passion for traveling and his appreciation for good food and wine always delighted his family and friends.

Remembrances may be made in his memories to the Marin General Hospital Foundation.
