Marlene Yang Obituary

Marlene Mei-shan Yang

Devoted Daughter, Sister, and Mother passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday August 5th 2021. Born in Shanghai, China, she graduated from National Taiwan University with a degree in Political Science after escaping her home during the Second Sino-Japanese War. A retired accountant, she was most recently rated an amateur Star Chinese Opera performer, in Shanghai and Beijing China. Contributed many years of dedicated work to the promotion and preservation of the UNESCO; awarded Kunqu Chinese Opera both in the United States and overseas. She leaves behind two siblings, a widowed sister-in-law, Mary Wong Yang; daughter, Mary Yang Wu; son, Michael Wu, and grandson Evan Wu; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews in the United States, Asia and Europe.
Call Chapel of the Highlands for service information. Committal at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Fremont, CA.
