Marsha Calegari Obituary

Marsha Calegari
11/17/1942 - 03/01/2024
Marsha McRae Calegari passed away peacefully on March 1, 2024, with her devoted caregiver, Christina, by her side. Marsha was born to Valerie and Douglas McRae (both deceased) in Carmichael, CA. It was there that her love for the outdoors and unwavering sense of adventure was kindled. Marsha carried this spirit throughout her journey in life.
She expanded her horizons at UC-Berkeley, earning a history degree and creating lifelong friendships within Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. At Berkeley, she met and later married Steve Calegari of San Francisco. Together, they welcomed the birth of their children, Lisa and Mark, and eventually two grandsons, Connor and Christian, courtesy of Mark and his wife Rhonda (née Parker).
Marsha was a natural in the world of San Francisco real estate, where she began at Hill & Co. before launching her own successful agency, Calegari & Associates. Her professional acumen was matched only by her enduring connections with clients and colleagues alike.
The mountains and lakes of Truckee were a second home to Marsha, where she was happiest hiking, skiing, and hosting friends for legendary dinner parties that were equal parts theatre and culinary delight. A true "foodie," Marsha savored the exploration of Northern California's food scene, infusing dining experiences with her unique insight and joy.
Marsha's final years were marked by the loss of her daughter, Lisa, as well as her sisters, Lynne McRae and Jane Millholen. Marsha persevered and in her signature way, squeezed the last ounce out of life she could before moving on to heaven's real estate market (which just got a lot more interesting!).
Rest in peace, dear Marsha. Your tenacious spirit is unforgettable: you live on forever in the laughter, the shared meals, and the trails you loved so very much.
