I want to express my deepest condolences to the family of Marva Brooks. I'd only met her in 2012, however, it seemed like I'd known her for so much longer as we shared a very special connection. She and I were allies in one of the most important fights in the history of San Francisco, and that gave us a special bond. I will always be grateful to her for her passion, courage and support in our quest for justice.
I know how sad I feel by the void her loss has caused, so I cannot imagine how her family is feeling, but please know you are not alone in your grief, and she will be fondly remembered by the multitude of people who had the honor of knowing her.

Marva Brooks was like a second mother to me. She knew my mother Carol Ann when I was just a young boy of about 7 years old. I also met Marva when I became employed by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office in June of 1984. She was very kind and helpful with information as she was the main telephone operator. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Her family and friends have my deepest condolences.

I remember Ms Marva from her years as the switchboard operator at the SF District Attorney's Office. She was always a kind, courteous, friendly person, who was very proud of her son Ranon, to whom I send my deepest sympathy.
