Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 9, of complications from a stroke. She was 89. Born in 1924 to Otto and Daisy von Raven, Mary leaves behind three sons: Raymond, Robert, Richard and his wife Judi. Her husband Ronald predeceased her in 1984 and her older brother Otto passed in 1990.
A third generation San Franciscan, Mary attended Lowell High School and graduated from San Francisco State University. She had a career as an educator with the S.F. School District.
Upon Retirement, Mary became active with the Native Daughters of the Golden West, the S.F. State Alumni group and the Christian Science Church.
Mary was beloved beyond her family and though she outlived her peers, leaves behind many good friends.
There will not be a Service but if anyone wishes to donate to the SPCA in her name, I know that would make her smile.
