Matt Picon Obituary
April 10, 1985 - November 11, 2022
Matt Picon, born April 10, 1985 in Los Angeles, California. Son of Gloria Pasework and Ron Picon, died in San Francisco, California on November 11, 2022. Matt spent most of his childhood in Arizona and even graduated from Arizona State University.
In San Francisco Matt flourished, creating art and community everywhere he went. Whether it be his extravagant events, beautiful installations, influence of drag, or impeccable style; Matt became known throughout San Francisco. Every drag queen in San Francisco has worked with Matt in some capacity and love him or hate him, he would always do what needed to be done to make the show go on.
On September 17th, 2017 Matt married Robby Long and lived out the rest of his days in loving happiness with their two cats, Tucker and Jolene.
Matt's memorial service will be on November 22 at 4:00 PM at Fort Mason, Gallery 308.

I´ve just learned of Matthew´s passing this morning and am so so sad. What a charismatic and centrifugal force he was for all who knew him. I met Matt when I moved unexpectedly to Arizona- he was in my neighborhood and was one of my first friends here. When I got my license, I drove him to school everyday. We belted out ridiculous songs- he was always so magnetic and full of life, even at 6 am as a teenager. Matt is the person who led me to God and helped me get baptized by myself at 20 yrs old. In 2008, I moved to Spokane and we met up and had just as much fun as though time hadn´t passed. I became a social media recluse and lost touch with him but have googled him often- always a bouquet of art, success, and enthusiasm bubbled as a result. One of my new years goals was to meet up with him again this year. I am so so sorry to see he is gone. Surely, his parents and family are still grieving. Please know his impact is still very much alive in this world. I love him dearly and he will always sit in my heart beside God- no better place to be. He´d really get a laugh out of that, I know, but that´s the Matt I knew. He would just hug me with that crazy cartoon-aggressive hug of his. In love, Angela Kemp
