Matthew Litfin Obituary

Matthew Wilder Litfin

Our dear Matt (AlfaMatty to most who knew him!) passed peacefully in hospital Oct 28, 2013 in San Mateo. He was 51, but his curiosity of all things kept him young at heart. He will be remembered as gregarious, cheerful, energetic, generous and selfless.

Matt was the ultimate fixer-upper: he loved to reclaim, repair, and modify appliances, circuits and autosâ€"especially his beloved Alfas... Self-proclaimed "The Handyman Can," Matt was always there to help. He was friend to the elderly, homeless, and any friend in need. He loved music, especially the Grateful Dead, and is probably still communing with Jerry at this moment.

Matt focused on living vigorously in the NOW, very close to his family and friends. NOW he is truly missed by mother Patricia Litfin and father Robert Litfin; sister Katy Kuhn and brother-in-law Hugh Kuhn; two nieces Colvin and Kenna Kuhn, and his extended family in the South Bay.

Dear Katy and Family, I am sorry for your brother's too early passing. Years ago my Dad, Richard Litfin, saw your picture in the newspaper, while you were at a gym. He delighted in seeing a distant relative named Katy Litfin. Now his only Granddaughter is Katie Litfin! Soothing wishes; beautiful memories to your Family.
