Maxine Dudune Obituary

Maxine Dudune

August 9, 1932 – May 7, 2016

Wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Maxine passed away due to complications of a stroke on May 7, 2016 with her family at her side.

She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Howard, and her brother Phillip Debo.

Maxine was born in San Francisco. Her parents were the late Louis and Marion Debovsky.

She graduated from Lowell High School in June 1950. It was in her senior year at Lowell that she met her "man", Howard Dudune, also a Lowell graduate. Upon graduating from high school, Maxine worked in the family baking business Johnson's Pound Cake and later at the American Trust Co.

Her family was her pride and joy and she looked forward to hosting family gatherings at her home. Maxine enjoyed attending her grandchildren's music and athletic events. Her hobbies were cooking and sewing. In addition, she loved watching the SF Giants.

She had great wit and after 25 years of marriage she would boast to friends that she finally made "a man out of Howard." They later travelled throughout North America, England, and France. Maxine and Howard lived in the San Carlos area for over 45 years.

Throughout her twelve-year illness, she maintained a remarkable spirit.

In addition to her husband Howard, she is survived by her daughters Lauren Boardman (Douglas), Shirley Moscibrocki (Edward), grandchildren Cathy Moscibrocki, Douglas Boardman, Ryan Boardman (Reyanne), Scott Boardman, Monica Boardman, Lindsay Moscibrocki, Amanda Moscibrocki, as well as two great granddaughters Isabel and Jordynn.

Her family wishes to thank all of the healthcare providers at Kaiser Redwood City for their wonderful care provided to Maxine, and her caregiver and friend Rose Nagata.

The family requests donations in memory of Maxine be made to the Pacific Stroke Association, 3801 Miranda Ave. Bldg 6 Rm 8-162, Palo Alto, CA 94304.

Although our paths never crossed, they paralleled, as well as Howard's. My first year at Lowell High School was the year Howard graduated and I graduated one year after Maxine from Lowell in 1951.Had I not repeated the 4th grade at San Rafael Military Academy after leaving Grant Grammar School, I would have graduated in 1950 from Lowell with all my classmates and friends from Grant and Maxine.
My heart goes out to Howard and the family for the loss of Maxine.
God Bless You, Rick Bradley
