Dear Sean's family, I am in the FibroGen Legal dept & worked with Sean on quality contracts. Over the years, I really enjoyed working with him. He was smart and practical with contract terms; and he was very sympathetic and kind when my UCSD daughter was very sick, and I dropped everything to be with her. Sean made it easy for me, being available by telephone, so we could push out those contracts. I know he loves his family deeply, his kids and PTA meetings were important.
Sean had a nice sense of humor, I remember fondly when I was working remotely, from home, and I told Sean I was sitting in the kitchen, looking at my lovely yard. He laughed, and said well, doesn't that sound nice? And I said it does, but it's not so nice when it's midnight, and I'm locked in the same position but can't see my lovely yard. He roared into laughter, and said I need better lights! No matter what the situation, Sean could always be counted on for friendly support. I will miss working with Sean.
I am so very sorry for your loss. I pray that God will give you the strength to carry on during this difficult time.

Heidi, dear cousin, I am sorry for your loss and that of young Michael, Tyler , Beth and all family. While I had not yet met Sean, the fact he was so beloved by you and your two children speaks volumes about him as a man, husband and father. My heart is with you all.

Sean, as we raise the parting glass to you, Godspeed, gratitude and grace, to our good man. Thank you for being the steadfast husband of my beloved sister; the stalwart stepfather to my niece & nephew, and dedicated dad to your own son; the devoted son to your parents and loving brother to your brother; and inspiring professional colleague and community member. You will be missed on this earthly plane, and we will sorrow that you are departed. But also know that you will be fondly remembered and spoken of as though you are still here. You are now on the journey we shall all take, and I wish you well on it, sir. Peace out, from your sister-in-law, Caitlin
