Michael W. Helgren

Michael, a long time resident of Santa Rosa & Arborist for SF Rec & Park, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pacifica. Born in Detroit, MI, he moved his family to California in 1984. Michael was in the tree business for over 25 years and had a love for the outdoors. He was very generous, had such a kind heart. Michael was the kind of man who would give you not only the last dollar in his pocket, but the shirt off his back. He was loved by all and will be very deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Michele, step-sons, Jack & Seamus, his children, Michael, Angel & Devon Hurley (Matt) & granddaughter Lily; siblings, Laura Spry, Liz Ricketts (Lloyd), Mark and mother Mary. Services will be held Monday August 27th at Stern Grove from 11:00-3:00.

I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. My prayers to his family and friends. I knew him when we were young in Michigan. Good to know that he was still loved by so many.

haven't seen mike in 28 years.great high school buddy and had alot of fun back in the day.hope the family knows he had alot of friends back in michigan.sorry about your loss.rip mike.all his buddies from redford know he is cruisin his old camaro up there right now.

What a loss to his family and friends. Mike was just an all around good man, father and loving heart. The world was a better place with him in it. God bless and keep you safe family.

My deepest condolences to the Helgren family, and Michael's other family and friends. I never had the chance to know him, but worked with his daughters Devin and Angel. Wow, the girls sure have Daddy's beautiful sparkly-eyed smile. Sadness may hide that smile during this time of sorrow and mourning, but when they are able to smile once again, they will be sharing a beautiful piece of their Daddy with the world!
