Mary, I am so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed the open honesty of Joe. Whenever there was a prebid walk I would look for Joe just so we could spend a little time. I loved hearing his stories of the ranch. Joe will be missed by all of us who had the chance to meet him.

Joe will be greatly missed.Joe and Mike Hester volunteered many years at the St. Vincent De Paul Dining Room.

Joe Hester was a rare person in the construction business. He knew the work and how to do it; better yet he knew people and treated everyone fairly and honestly whatever the position they held and role they played. From the first day I met Joe, over 30 years ago, to the last time we were together he was always a genuine gentleman no matter what the issue and what "side" we represented, and sometimes they were the same. I will miss him and think of him often; he was one of a kind and irreplaceable. Thank you Joe.

Very sorry for your loss Mary. Pat and I moved to Santa Fe, NM in 1995 so your memory of us may be distant. However, our daughter Monica still keeps in touch with Pegge so we hear news regularly. Joe and I servrd on the School Board at St. Pascal's over 35 years ago and I have fond memories of that. We will keep you and Joe in our prayers.

Joe's presence as a friend and mentor impacted so many in the extended McGuire and Hester family. We were so blessed to have the time we had with him.

To all the Hester family, I wish to send my deepest sympathy. I am one of the Slater twins, Mary Lou Slater Markling and I live in Fullerton Ca. I was with the family and growing up with the cousins Hester before most of you were born. It was an exciting time to visit Maureen and Michael and the Hester kids in their home and get to know our cousins. MY sister Liz and I lived in our Berkeley home and it was quite a drive to get to Oakland in those days. Liz and I always loved those visits with our special cousins and bonded over the years as Michael and Maureen had many family gatherings. No Wonder Joe became the perfect host as he followed in his wonderful parents's tradition - Family meant everything.
I am sorry that I cannot attend the memorial celebration of Joe and his very large family and loved ones. Bill and I send our love and prayers to each of you as you mourn the passing of this great man.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the Hesters. I feel so truly blessed to to have experienced firsthand how Joe's many great qualities have been passed down to his kids and then on to his grandkids. I will always remember him with two foster kids in his arms as he read the paper on the back porch! Such calm and joy in what others would consider absolute chaos. What an example he was and shall remain.

John and I were honored to know Joe and his wonderful family through work (and sometimes play), these past couple of decades. We send our sympathy and love to all the family...we will miss Joe's warmth and generosity of spirit. God bless the Hester family!

My thoughts and prayers belong to the huge and great family of Joe Hester today. What a wonderful man. I was always greeted with a smile, a hand shake and a story. The values he taught his family, he lived every day. Without a doubt, the most genuine person that I have ever known. Heaven is a little better place today with his arrival.

Unlce Joe was a true angel here on earth. I have fond memories of many dance parties growing up with the Hester gang. He will truly be missed but in our hearts forever. Much love and prayers to you all.
