Mike "O'B" O'Brien lived. Every day.
Father to Sean , Jack and Conor, brother to Steve , Connor ,Terry and Kate,and friend to all, Mike embodied living life to the fullest in whatever he did.
Born in San Francisco, Mike grew up in Marin County and attended Marin Catholic High School where he excelled in both football and baseball. But it was at St Mary's College in Moraga where Mike fully developed his zest for life and forged lifelong friendships. He had an energy level matched by few and loved by many. The bond he created with his fellow Gaels, particularly his rugby teammates, carried on through Mike's entire life. He was a loyal Gael who loved any opportunity to gather again, share memories, or create new ones.
Mike approached his entire life with the same passion and dedication displayed in his earlier years. Whether it was traveling the world, starting and running his own business (O'Brien Builders), raising three successful sons or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Mike did it at full speed. He loved the Forty Niners, St Patrick's Day, and a good night out at the bar with an occasional vocal performance ranging from Paint Your Wagon to Galway Bay, to anything by Sinatra . And , of course, a rousing rendition of Alouette was a crowd favorite. He worked hard and played hard.
Mike lived. Always.
