friends and family of Michael's, somehow two different guest books were created. This one at SF Gate, and a different one that I created at Legacy.com, select "Celebrate A Legacy", select "Browse Memorials" and Search Michael O'Brien. There you will find many more pictures and comments. Eventually I will consolidate both books.

In my 28 years around people in 12 Step recovery, I occassionally have the good fortune to meet an individual who "Get's it"! Michael was one of those. He always had that smile that made one feel he knew something that the rest of us didn't. His level of gratitude for sobriety and life was unwavering and complete. I barely knew him, and yet I knew him! Carry on brother and enjoy the next chapter. Marc Schoenitzer El Sobrante,CA

Does anyone have a picture of Michael? I'm wondering if this is my friend from the early 70's who loved to play darts? We worked together at Standard Brands, Fleishmann's yeast. I'll check back in a few days.

Michael, i just want to say hello and tell you how much we all at the el sobrante aa fellowship loved you and appreciated you. i felt your energy at your service, saw your laughter and face and imagined you with us.There were 15 of us from the fellowship at golden gate park at hippy hill and boy, what an adventure finding the place. we spoke with your sisters, Chrissie and Sarah and met your nice work friends and they were funny and and saw Ozzie The Bird and Petra (me) took so many photos of the event. Fern and Cindy were an amazing part of organizing from our end. We love you blond gals! I keep looking for interesting spiritual lights in my photos for you to show proof of you being in the circle of sharing about you.
Renee was there and made a great enterance and was very popular and loved on. I made a collage of the event. know that your generous spirit, kind heart and sensitivity to newcomers in sobriety was amazing. Our journey was a richer one because we walked with you on it and some only for too short of a while, but what an impact you made on many. You are an angel, michael and you are and will be a legend......god bless and hugs and good hikes and fun texts!!!!

I will miss Michael for the way he was with my brother Rene. Helpful caring, working with him. He so wanted my brother to succeed as he had in his new life. It was so great to see Michael also growing, accomplishing his goals in life which he so deserved. I enjoyed hearing about his new adventures hiking and sky diving. He was enjoying life with natural highs.
I will be his biggest fan always.
