Michael Pedrini Obituary

Michael William Pedrini

June 8, 1944-Dec. 21, 2016

Mike is finally at peace after suffering, for many years, from the increasingly devastating effects of frontotemporal dementia. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Janet (Stolp), his daughter Nicole Riley (Steve) of Tracy, his son Christopher of Danville and his son Vincent (Lisa) of Brentwood. He also leaves behind ten grandchildren he adored, Hannah, Benjamin, Abigail, Makena, Christopher, Siena, Genevieve, Maliea, Moorea and Mya. He will be missed by his sisters Sandi and Sue (Jim) and his brothers Bob and Bill (Kathy), brother-in-law Dennis (Stacy), and sister-in-law Bernadette. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Frieda, sister Nancy, mother-in-law Yvonne, nephew Matthew and brother-in-law Ron. He is also survived by many other nephews, nieces and cousins.
Mike was born in San Diego and spent his early years in San Francisco and Pacifica. He graduated from the newly opened Westmoor High in Daly City, in 1961. He entered the San Francisco Police Academy in October, 1968 to begin his 32+ year career in law enforcement, spending many years as an Inspector and retiring in 2001. It was a great source of pride to Mike that his two sons followed him into the SFPD. He and Jan were longtime residents of Half Moon Bay, where they raised their family, until moving to Livermore a few years ago.

He and Jan loved to travel and, before his illness took that away, they visited many places here in the USA as well as around the world.

Mike exemplified the qualities many of us strive to obtain. He was devoted to his family, loved his country and had an unmatched work ethic and a sense of right and wrong.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church at 458 Maple Street in Livermore on January 6, 2017, at 11:00 am.

Bill & Kathy - So sorry for your loss.

January 5, 2017

Dear Bill & Kathy we know how traumatic it is to loose a brother, but Mike had suffered for so long, this is can only one of those blessings that tear your heart out but somehow you know Grace was extended. But healing your hearts will take much longer, I am very sorry for that, But remember, grief is a journey and it will take you to some beautiful places and some very dark places, that is where you fall to you you knees and scream to God "why" and if you listen in silence, even a few days later He will tell you.

I hope and pray for both of you that these few words will help pull you through:

Drinking from the waters of sorrow sustains a different kind of life. This river is hidden from the rest of the world. Tears drip off my chin into an endless flow of liquid love that sparkles with beauty.

Love you both. so much

Dear Pedrini Family:

I was very saddened to hear of Mike's passing. I'm sure he fought as long as he was able against this heartless adversary, and is now at peace. My heart goes out to all of you, and I am sending prayers for peace and strength in the weeks ahead. God Bless.

Dear Jan and family,

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's illness and passing. Mike was always always a great sounding board to me when I worked at the OCC.

What a wonderful, supportive family.

I'm so glad that Chris and Vince are upholding Mike's SFPD legacy.

Thinking of you,
