Its with a lot of sadness that I happen to know about Michael death. I had really good memories with the whole family, listening to Bruce Springsteen's songs and trying to understant the lyrics. Michael was really a great help for that. Your are all in my thoughts.

Dear Walsh Family,
My husband and I live in Glen Park. We came to know Mike from his walking or jogging by our home on a regular basis. He always said hi and had a smile on his face. Over the years we enjoyed many conversations together. He was such a gentle and caring person, and he was so proud of his family.
We have just learned of Mike's passing today, 7/18/09. We both would like all family members to know how sorry we are and our prayers are with you.

Dear Flo, Brendan, Molly, Bridgid & Colleen,
I knew Mike because I worked in the after school program at St. John's and Brendan was in my group. Mike was always very kind and obviously a very loving father when I spoke to him about Brendan. My husband also knew Mike from working with him in the SFPD. We are both so sorry and want you all to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Flo and Family,
I am very saddened to hear of Mike's passing. Reading of his life committed to his family, service and giving, he is someone we all can look up to as a model to follow.
I'm proud to have known Mike at SI and SFSU. Even as a young man one could see the inner goodness that drove Mike's life. He was a kind and generous soul who matured into a loving, nurturing father and community leader.
While I hadn't seen Mike in many years, it's gratifying to know he leaves a lasting legacy. He was an everyday hero and he will be greatly missed.

To Mrs. Walsh and family,
We just heard of your great loss we are so very sorry. We knew Mike from Silver Tree Day Camp (Glen Park Canyon)where he would often drive in to make sure all was fine I was a Counselor there for 18 years and knew Mike as a huge part of our community. Our kids also attended Gateway HS together and we saw you both at many Parent functions (great parents, you both were always so involved) and our kids graduated together last year.

We are deeply sorry to hear about the passing of Mike. It was just too hard to believe. We will always remember the times at St. John's with Mike, Flo and the kids. The school games, putting together the graduation parties, fundraising and so much more. All our prayers to the family.

My best memories were growing up as a gym rat at St. John’s with my extended family. Those memories would definitely not be complete without Mr. Walsh. His legacy will live on forever. I am so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Mike and Flo have been so recognizable in my families lives for over 20 years... Tiny Tots at Glen Park... coaching at St Johns Gym.... Running the St Johns sports snack bar while Brigid, Colleen and Luigia played under the kitchen table for HOURS... the kids school field trips.....Flo's softball..... Walking Jack! Flo, I am so sorry for this truly untimely and unexpected loss.

As the wife of an Ingleside Police Officer and the mother of a St. John's graduate I know that Mike will be missed terribly. I would like to offer my condolences to the Walsh family on the passing of your husband and father. I am a nurse at SFGH and had the opportunity to talk with him on the occasions when he would bring in a patient to PES. I was always impressed with how kind, gentle and compassionate he was with the patients, many of whom could be quite difficult. My heart goes out to you. SF and the SFPD have lost a great man.
