Nancy Nejasmich Obituary

Nancy Ann Derry Madigan Nejasmich A dedicated fourth-grade teacher for more than 40 years at Clifford Elementary School in Redwood City; a devoted wife to her three beloved husbands who preceded her in death: Martin Nejasmich (2006), Patrick Madigan (1989) and Michael Madigan (1969); and a feisty tennis player who greatly loved her large, extended family, passed away peacefully at her home in Menlo Park on March 30, 2007 after a valiant battle with cancer. She was 71. Nancy was born on October 31, 1935 to Edward and Helen Derry. She is survived by her two sisters, Sr. Joan Derry, and Gail Derry Blach and her husband Richard; in addition to her brother, Rev. Daniel Derry. Her brothers James and Edward J. Derry preceded her in death. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces: Mark (and Jenny) Derry, Tamra Tehaney, Blake Derry, Matthew (and Kristi) Derry and Daniel and Matthew Blach; and grandnieces and nephews: Emily Blach; Shannon, Cayla and Mariah Derry; Bryan, Blaine and Jenna Tehaney; and Cassandra and Ryan Derry; and close friends, Carlos and Evelyn Lopez, and their daughters, Andrea and Elena; as well as her sister-in-law Annette (and Oliver) Moylan. Her late husband Martin's three children and their spouses also survive her: Larry and Mary Jo Nejasmich; Steve and Judy Nejasmich and Steven and Ann Dylina; as well as Martin's five grandchildren: Matt, Danny and Katie Nejasmich and Mark and Matthew Dylina. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Rosary at Church of the Nativity in Menlo Park, 210 Oak Grove Ave, at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3rd. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, April 4 at 11 a.m. at Church of the Nativity followed by Interment. A reception will follow at the Menlo Circus Club. Donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, 11 First St., Gilroy, CA, 95020; or the St. Vincent Day Home, operated by the Holy Family Sisters, 1086 Eighth St., Oakland, CA 94607.
